New measurement device supports predictive maintenance in the construction industry

New Measuring Device Supports Predictive Maintenance in Construction Wheel loader High Pressure Connector EuropePredictive maintenance is essential to maintain the value and reliable, long-term operation of expensive systems and machinery. This is easier said than done. Systems, equipment and machinery in industry and mobile hydraulics often have a complex structure due to increasing requirements, and error analysis could be extremely expensive and time-consuming. Parker SensoControl

has the solution to these problems with its wide range of sensors, connections and various measuring devices.

Despite the hard work the equipment can do, pressure spikes, flow surges and temperature changes can render internal electronic components unusable. All of this can go unnoticed by operators who control their equipment and systems with traditional mechanical measuring devices. Being able to effectively monitor and detect possible problems in advance can help reduce downtime and avoid damage to expensive equipment. SensoControl products enable end users to prevent downtime with a full range of diagnostic and condition monitoring equipment, ideal for individual components or complete systems.

The new

Parker Service Master CONNECT meets the demand for faster, simpler and more accurate diagnosis. Recording measurement data quickly and easily, Parker Service Master CONNECT is a diagnostic device used to measure pressure, temperature, flow rate, speed and frequency that stands out from other measurement devices. At first glance, the compact design and 7-inch anti-glare display make it look very similar to a tablet. Illumination and high resolution allow users to read measurement data without error, even in dark working environments. In addition, it is easy to handle due to its weight of less than 2 kg.

Rugged design: the measuring device has a solid, oil-resistant casing designed in accordance with IP65. This means that CONNECT is safely protected from shock, moisture and dirt; thus, it is an excellent choice for sensing tasks in harsh conditions, such as those of mobile hydraulics.

Safe operation: the addition of tactile keys ensures easy operation of the measuring device, even under difficult conditions such as shock and vibration. The 3 mm thick touch screen allows it to be used even with gloves and responds quickly and reliably to finger movements. Icons on the control panel are designed to guide users intuitively between different functions.

What makes the device useful?

What kind of technology does it offer

Parker Service Master CONNECT Underneath its rugged covering? What makes this device such a useful tool for users?

Customer-specific equipment solutions: Parker SensoControl integrates individually interchangeable calculation modules, allowing the device to be used in almost any testing situation and offering considerable flexibility to users. “CONNECT” has, in addition, variable measurement inputs, expanding the “playing field” for different tests: CAN and Parker analog sensors with auto-sensing, analog sensors, SAEJ-1939, CANopen, frequency, digital inputs and outputs.

Different methods of data recording: data from up to 100 channels are automatically recorded, collected in a large internal measurement memory, and can be analyzed immediately on a PC using SensoWin analytical software. Different methods for data logging can be used in order to speed up measurement: from start/stop to data logger with circular buffer to point measurement by trigger and trigger logic. USB interfaces allow the device to connect to other components, such as mass storage.

Unique ways to present recorded measurement data: users can view them in numerical format or using bar graphs, indicators, or curves. If necessary, screenshots can be taken by simply pressing a button. Another advantage of “CONNECT” is its intuitive user interface, which can be expanded with custom-made tools via software applications.

Remote operations and monitoring: Supported by a LAN, WLAN or USB interface. Firmware can be easily updated via USB. The new CONNECT device is multifunctional and can process not only measurement data but also models and multimedia data such as instructions, service programs, etc.

Versatile and flexible: Parker Service Master CONNECT has interchangeable input modules. In addition to a CAN module with two separate CAN Bus networks, CONNECT can also offer two analog input modules(with and without galvanic isolation) to connect Parker sensors to the sensing sensor, as well as the ability to connect external sensors, including high-speed functions.

Conclusions

Parker Service Master CONNECT’s concept makes it more like a PC than a measuring device. It can be used to store both calculation data and project models, images, maintenance plans and schematic diagrams. Missing data can be stored on CONNECT from the corporate network. This saves time for service technicians and improves communication among colleagues because key machine data are stored on CONNECT.
